Let the Smears Begin ... (Updated)

January 20, 2007 / by liberalfreak

As with John Kerry, Richard Clarke, and others before them - the whisper-smear campaign has already begun against Barack Obama

A lot of us predicted that this would happen a long time ago.  Start spreading false rumors about Obama's muslim background and suggest he's a terrorist sympathizer.  Mention his middle name over and over again.  Then baselessly blame it on Hillary's campaign, as an excuse to repeat the smear.  One blogger predicted it over a month ago.

If people want civility back in politics, the angry right wing certainly hasn't noticed.

UPDATE (01/22): I love being right!

Look what the left started to do to Rudy Guliani before the beginning of his search into a possible run in 08....And believe me, Hillary will have the most to gain by smearing Obama because if the democratic heavy-weights see him as the better hope for their party, she is out of luck until 2016 (and she will be too old by then)

Rudy's gonna run for president? Gimme a break. And Hillary's already? I need another break. Gimme a Gore-Obama ticket and I'll vote often.

That's my dream ticket too. I don't think Gore is running. If he did, I think he would win the primary quite easily.

Personally I do not think Gore will run...He is enjoying way to much celebrity and popularity now and I think the democratic hierarchy still considers him a liability more than an asset. If Obama can survive the Clinton(s) all-out assault over the next two years, and if he can continue to impress and grow politically, he will be the next President....Let's just hope we can get a good moderate Vice-President in there to keep the White House grounded.
